Pick Up Lines from Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago

She is so witty and funny. Got this from a transcript of a blogger. Pang-tanggal boredom, read on: ___________________________ I never got picked up by anybody, either here in the Philippines or abroad. But now I know there are certain pick-up lines which will prove irresistible. Why don’t you try the following? Noodles ka ba, kasi Lucky Me? […] parang see-saw, pag wala ka, down ako. Para kang hold-upper, lahat ibibigay ko sayo, wag mo lang akong saktan. Galing mo din, ano? Di mo pa ko binabato tinamaan mo na ako. Maglaro tayo ng kahit ano, wag lang taguan, kasi a girl like you is hard to find. Sana exam mo na lang ako, para sagutin mo rin ako. Bastos ka rin, ano? Di ka man lang nagpapaalam tuloy-tuloy kang pumasok

A Sunday of Nichols

Last Sunday was an extra special one, my "lolo" and "lola" are coming to church to speak. In the morning, Bro. Doug Nichols (my "lolo") delivered pulpit preaching about Jesus' pattern of prayer while, in the afternoon, his wife Margie Nichols shared among the women, the message of Christ's love for the untouchable, the woman who had been bleeding for 12years and got healed by touching Jesus' cloak.. They shared a lot, but 2 things hit me. One is to hallow God's name(from Bro.Doug) and the other is THINK before you speak(from Sis. Margie). I realized that hallowing God's name does not only apply to giving reverence to His name, To hallow his name means affecting every minute of your life with His holiness. Example, in my thought-life, I should hallow God, with how I spend my money I should consider to hallow God's name and be good steward. THINK stands for: T - Truth, is what am I about to say true? H-Helpful, is it going to

HRCC Choir sings Beautiful Savior in church baptism (first part only)

Beautiful Savior Beautiful Savior, King of creation, Son of God and Son of Man! Truly I’d love thee, Truly I’d serve thee, Light of my soul, my joy, my crown. Fair are the meadows, Fair are the woodlands, Robed in flowers of blooming spring; Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer, He makes our sorrowing spirit sing. Fair is the sunshine, Fair is the moonlight, Bright the sparkling stars on high; Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines purer Than all the angels in the sky. Beautiful Savior, Lord of the nations, Son of God and Son of Man! Glory and honor, praise, adoration Now and forevermore be thine!

Recent Solo Christo "Sya Na Ba?"

I missed it and so I asked few sisters who attended today's gathering on topic "Sya Na Ba?" So far, these were some of what they shared: On being friends: Ok kung friends...pero hanggat di nagsabi ng intention ...wala Question: "ok lang ba ang pakipot?" Answer: "what are your motives for prolonging it? ...kung gusto mo lang pahirapan....you're not being a sister" Question: "pano pag wala sa church yung gusto mong guy?" Answer: "sure ka ba....na walang prospect sa church? baka di mo lang ganun kakilala ang mga brothers ( Note: there was separate session for men and women. The above-mentioned happened in women's) I really missed this event. Sadly, it was not recorded but, I trust that I'll be able to get other highlights from other sisters who attended. :) More kwento please! Here's more kwento: PRAY-na tanggalin ni God yung desire if he's not the right guy... One way to guard your heart: don't talk about the guy

Conversations on 'Sya Na Ba?'

This afternoon, I had a casual but interesting conversation with one of the pastors in our church. The topic stemmed from the upcoming singles fellowship this month on asking God's will in terms of relationship, Sya Na Ba? (Is it Him/Her?). Me: What will you do if you have a crush? Kuya O: What kind of crush? Me: yung kinikilig ka kapag nakikita mo Kuya O: there's nothing wrong with being friendly Me: what will you do if someone you don't like has crush on you? Kuya O: you can be honest. but speak with brotherly love I will miss the fellowship this month because I'll be out of town, but I will definitely get an audio copy of the preaching. Note: All Single adults are invited to come to Solo Christo Fellowship on May 15, Sunday at 1pm

'City Clerk'

As I was reading the book of Acts, I thought of Libya because of this person in Ephesus who quieted the crowd—he was a City Clerk. I don’t know the equivalent of that position in present day but I was just amazed how his wise words stopped the riot and the crowds disperse and because of that, Paul and other disciples were not harmed.   May the Lord send peace to Libya. ( The riot in Ephesus was caused by a businessman who makes silver gods. He spread the word that Paul’s faith teaches that man-made gods are not god at all. This made the crowd furious to Paul. Refer to Acts 19 )

Heart@Tux video clip

They did it again! Tux is just a complete package. I enjoyed every set of Heart@Tux concert last night including those of guests Nanete, Ogie and Regine. It was also nice to see Kuya Carlo sing with the group.

It's Friday I'm in love

Had the chance yesterday to go with officemates for Batangas and Tagaytay tour. I enjoyed Bag of Beans Tagaytay, Club Balai Isabel, Starbucks and loads of fun with friends. Finally I saw Tagaytay lake again. Thank God. I love Friday!

One Thing Necessary

I'll tell you a secret. Bro. Doug Nichols is my lolo. He doesn't know about this but one day I'll tell him.  Last week Sis. Margi Nichols, my 'lola' (she too has no idea), shared to us Mary and Martha story (Luke10:38-42) and gave the lesson of choosing the right priority--our relationship with Jesus. You know the story, Martha welcomed Jesus but instead of attending to him, as in facing him, she got so focused on the meal. While, Mary chose the good part. Martha is just like you and me, busy. Busy with so many things that we tend to forget the one thing necessary. Martha got stressed out. She was pressured to come up with an excellent meal but she was not happy. Her thoughts were no longer for Jesus but on the meal.   But Jesus' rebuke to Martha was gracious, "you are worried and upset about many things but few things are needed--or indeed only one" He's not saying don't work but the approach was addressing the heart issue. He identified the w
