I've been watching Myx

Lately I've been checking Myx. It's a local music channel, a local version of MTV. I am curious what type of music is up nowadays.

Top songs are still about break ups or turning somebody on. Nothing much changed (I guess) but something did change, because music tells you what's happening in the society. It mirrors the mindset of the people who listen to the music because they make them popular or unpopular.

I think these top songs tell you two things: first, you are amazing and second, nothing can make you the opposite. Check this one:

"One kiss is all it takes, Falling in love with me, Possibilities"

Or this one:

Ain't got no tears in my body
I ran out, but boy, I like it, I like it, I like it
Don't matter how, what, where, who tries it
We're out here vibin', we vibin', we vibin'

Self worth is all over the songs on top chart. But, this shouldn't surprise me because we are in an era where self-expression is all that matters. We are in a time when you can be yourself and not care about others or rules or laws or God! If you are on Youtube, chances are, you can express yourself plus get popular.

Loving self is normal. We all care and protect ourselves but when it becomes 'The Only' thing that matters, that's where we draw the line. Loving self above God is sinful. I remember Someone who denied Himself of any earthly pleasure, in order for many to be saved (Phils.2). Instead of loving self, God calls us to seek Him first and put others first before self. #servanthood

I personally like music. Music is part of my life. However, I also know how it can go with the time that tells you, 'this is what is normal now, better accept it'. I remember when cursing is masked in music, but now not anymore.

I still enjoy different kinds of music today but with this in my mind. Hope this will help you reflect and guard your mind too.

My First PUSO Day

I am 35, single  (technically)   who have been asked numerous times every February of my life this same generic and sometimes annoying question of what will I do on the 14th? Normally my answer would just be a smile but this year is different. I have an answer, we have an all-girls-sleep-over partey!!! Last Feb14 (on a Friday, Payday, Valentines), while the Metro is cursed with heavy traffic both on streets and in trains (ya! people-traffic), I stayed at home the whole day to prepare for the night. My housemates and I, invited our girl friends to have a Valentines party at home and we called it P.U.S.O. Don't ask me what the acronym mean because I keep forgetting, the S though stands for Singles. See my pang-elementary wall decor...We even have our Love wall... Anyway, the ladies started coming by 5pm. The program was simple: eat, have a game and movie marathon. We had dinner, talked, laughed and ate as much sweets as we wanted (imagine 10+ women talking and laughing...t
