A Sunday of Nichols

Last Sunday was an extra special one, my "lolo" and "lola" are coming to church to speak. In the morning, Bro. Doug Nichols (my "lolo") delivered pulpit preaching about Jesus' pattern of prayer while, in the afternoon, his wife Margie Nichols shared among the women, the message of Christ's love for the untouchable, the woman who had been bleeding for 12years and got healed by touching Jesus' cloak..

They shared a lot, but 2 things hit me. One is to hallow God's name(from Bro.Doug) and the other is THINK before you speak(from Sis. Margie).

I realized that hallowing God's name does not only apply to giving reverence to His name, To hallow his name means affecting every minute of your life with His holiness. Example, in my thought-life, I should hallow God, with how I spend my money I should consider to hallow God's name and be good steward.

THINK stands for:
T - Truth, is what am I about to say true?
H-Helpful, is it going to help if I say it?
I-Inspiring, will it inspire others or not?
N-Needful are the words I have to say needed? or I should just not say it?
K-Kind, this one is the best test, yeah I can say what is true and needed but is it kind to say it? Like telling one person that her hair looks like broom when its true that she has big frizzy hair, yet still not kind to say.

The Nichols are one of the favorite missionaries in the church. I love both of them because they not only speak the truth but actually live the love of Jesus. They are good examples of living by faith and not loving the world.

May the Lord's grace create in me a pure heart and do as I THINK and hallow His name.

Don't miss it

Whenever I travel by plane, I would often miss looking at the beautiful cottony clouds by the window. This morning I read of a different cloud I should never miss watching. I just finished reading the book of Exodus and this last chapter helped me understand and believe more of God's faithfulness to His people as I think of uncertainties in 2012. The last verses of Exodus 40 are like sweet reminders to me. I can't help but praise God because His ways are sure and I just have to trust in Him. 34  Then  the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and  the glory of the  Lord  filled the tabernacle.   35  And Moses was not able to enter the tent of meeting because the cloud settled on it, and the glory of the Lord  filled the tabernacle.   36  Throughout all their journeys,  whenever the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the people of Israel would set out.   37  But  if the cloud was not taken up, then they did...
