Life's Timeline

A time to give birth and a time to die; A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted. Ecc.3:2

I just checked my Facebook newsfeed few minutes ago and happened to see two interesting consecutive posts. The first was from one who is giving information about the wake venue of a relative who recently died and, next to that post was a photo from ultrasound scan of my friend's womb who is so excited of their first baby (to come) after several years of trying.

Life.

Have you asked yourself, why did I start and why do I have an end?

Ecclesiastes is traditionally translated as "teacher" or "preacher". (source: wikipedia)
It is a book of wisdom teaching about life. Solomon, the writer of the book, shared the wisdom God gave him about life which if we will take to heart, shall save us from wasting our time, our life.

I asked myself before why did I start and why do I have an end? I found the answer from God's word. I learned that my life's timeline depends on my Creator. In the famous Psalm, Psalm 23 it says "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want". In my journey of studying the Word, I come to know my Creator more. He is good, just, loving, holy.

Everyday I am reminded that life is God's. I shall count it for His glory. Yes, He dictates who comes and who goes; that should make everyone He created mindful that there is a timeline. Satan preaches the opposite, the lie that we can do whatever pleases us anyway this is 'my life'. Check the Word and learn from its truth.
