Baking Soda Household Life Hacks (updated)

Since I got married, I've been busy researching on household cleaning tips. One of the cleaning agents I found out that's really helpful is baking soda. Here are some of the things I use it for aside from baking. Please make extra reading/researching if you will try my list.

Solution: 1 tbsp of baking soda dissolved in 2 tbsp of water and use brush/sponge. Finish by rinsing with water and towel/paper dry.

1. Cleaning surfaces - to remove stubborn dirt on your white furniture, sinks, tiles and toilet bowls. If the dirt is seemingly deep, you can leave the solution for 30 minutes and do the brushing and rinse with water then dry.
2. Cleaning teeth and retainers - After brushing your teeth with usual toothpaste, follow this baking soda solution and rinse. You will definitely feel how clean your teeth are after. This process makes your teeth whiter too. I suggest do this every other day only.
3. Scrub - include small amount of baking soda with your once a week body scrub and rinse with water. You will feel how extra smooth your skin will be after. However, I don't use this for whole body, just legs part. I don't feel like putting baking soda to my entire body hahaha.
4. Stain - although Xonrox does the work, in case the stain is really a challenge, I include a small amount of baking soda too.
5. Remove odor - if you want to remove the odor in your rubber gloves, put baking soda inside overnight and rinse with water before use.

Lastly, for tropical countries like Philippines, ants are constantly a pain to treat at home. Here's what I do with the use of baking soda.

6. Remove ants - I combine sugar and baking soda and sprinkle where ants are crawling. Normally the effect is not immediate, it will take overnight and you will see them no more the next day.

Hope this blog helps in keeping your home clean. God bless!

(Below are other uses of baking soda but please be careful trying it yourself, research first)

My First PUSO Day

I am 35, single  (technically)   who have been asked numerous times every February of my life this same generic and sometimes annoying question of what will I do on the 14th? Normally my answer would just be a smile but this year is different. I have an answer, we have an all-girls-sleep-over partey!!! Last Feb14 (on a Friday, Payday, Valentines), while the Metro is cursed with heavy traffic both on streets and in trains (ya! people-traffic), I stayed at home the whole day to prepare for the night. My housemates and I, invited our girl friends to have a Valentines party at home and we called it P.U.S.O. Don't ask me what the acronym mean because I keep forgetting, the S though stands for Singles. See my pang-elementary wall decor...We even have our Love wall... Anyway, the ladies started coming by 5pm. The program was simple: eat, have a game and movie marathon. We had dinner, talked, laughed and ate as much sweets as we wanted (imagine 10+ women talking and laughing...t
